Troops ‘kill six Boko Haram terrorists’ in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly killed six Boko Haram terrorists. 

 

The terrorists were said to have been killed during a patrol on Sunday in which the terrorists hideouts were raided  along the Kumshe-Banki road in Borno.

According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the terrorists “were always robbing commuters of their valuables in the area.”

 

In another development, the troops also repelled an attack by the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) on Mafa LGA of Borno

According to Zagazola Makama, the ISWAP terrorists attacked the town in gun trucks at midnight shooting at the troops.

 

Sources said the troops opened fire and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle.

“They attempted to attack us through Charly Papa 1, but we are able to foil their evil plans. The terrorists were pounded severely,” a source was quoted as saying.

 

“They were forced to retreat and fled, abandoning their evil mission. No casualty on the side of the troops.”

The development comes days after troops of operation Hadin kai repelled an attack by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno, killing scores of the terrorists.

The terrorists were said ambushed the troops, who in return the troops opened fire on them along Kumshe and Bama areas of Borno.

The military, in recent months, has continued to launch offensives against the terrorists.
