A ‘Benue Links’ bus marked LV595, which was conveying passengers from Otukpo in Benue state, has been involved in an accident on the Abuja-Keffi road.

Two persons were said to have died in the accident, which occurred on Thursday around the Keffi snake farm, on the Keffi-Abuja expressway in Nasarawa state, while 16 others sustained injuries.

The passengers were on their way to Abuja.

Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa, also made a stopover at the scene of the accident, while on his way to Lafia, the Nasarawa capital.

According to Ukan Kurugh, an eyewitness, the body of the deceased persons have been deposited in a mortuary around the Keffi/Lafia axis.

“The two dead bodies have been carried by the police to the mortuary. The injured have also been moved to a nearby hospital,” Kurugh said.
