Ikechukwu Uche, Villareal CF forward, scored twice to help his club secure a 2-0 win over Almeria in Sunday’s Spanish La Liga match – goals that shot his tally in Spanish football to 100.

Uche got his brace in the 23rd and 59th minute at the Camp El Madrigal in a match that also featured compatriot Ramon Azeez for the visitors.

The forward, who has not featured for the Super Eagles since Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) triumph in 2013, took to his Twitter account – @ikeuche9 – on Monday morning to express his joy.

“Great game last night, very proud to have scored my 100th goal in Spain. Just want to thank everyone for the support.”

Uche has previously played for Racing Ferrol, Recreativo, Getafe, Zaragoza and Granada.

He could make a return to the Super Eagles in Nigeria’s must-win games against Congo and South Africa in November.
