Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, an award-winning Nigerian novelist, says white people lack the moral standing to define racism.
The writer said this during an argument with Emmet Tyrell, the editor in chief of the American Spectator, on BBC Newsnight.
When asked by the host Emily Maitlis if Trump had been racist in his language, Tyrell said “no he hasn’t”.
Adichie almost immediately interjected, saying: “I am sorry but if you are a white man you don’t get to define what racism is”.
She maintained that the U.S. president-elect is racist for saying a United States judge, who’s Mexican, can’t judge him fairly.
