Thousands of Nigerians have taken to social media to call to question the logic behind the N9 billion wardrobe allowance for members of the 8th national assembly as reported in the media.
THISDAY earlier reported that the 469 federal lawmakers in both chambers were billed to get a sum of N8.64 billion to furnish their wardrobes.
The N8.64 billion wardrobe allowance translates to N17.5 million for each of the 360 members of the federal house of representatives and N21.5 million for each of the 109 senators.
Nigerians have voiced their opposition to the big pay day for the lawmakers, adding that N9 billion could change the face of some sectors in the Nigerian public life.
