Yaya Toure top dog for CAF award again

Ivory Coast international captain, Yaya Toure, has been named in CAF’s final list for the 2015 African footballer of the year award.

The 32 year-old four-time winner who was last week named the BBC African Player of the year for the 2015 slugs it out with top rated Gabon international Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang and Ghana forward Andre Ayew.

The announcement of the final three contenders was made in Abuja on December 14.

In attendance were CAF executive member, Anjorin Moucharafou, and Glo representatives.

Also announced were the top three contenders for the best home-based African player.

Baghdad Boundjah of Algeria and Etoile du Sahel; Mbwana Aly Samata of Tanzania and TP Mazembe); Robert Kidiaba of DR Congo and TP Mazembe scaled the hurdle as the final three for Afriica’s best within the continent.

The winners in the different categories will be made public at the CAF Gala Awards in Abuja on January 7.
