Speaking on Friday while presenting the vehicles, Zulum said the motorbikes would improve surveillance and responsive operations against terrorists and other criminals operating in the state.

He said 30 Toyota Hilux and 175 motorcycles would be given to the military, while 20 Toyota Hilux and 75 bikes would be handed to the civilian joint task Force (CJTF).

“This is the first phase of the distribution of vehicles to security agencies in our second term. While the military and the volunteers will benefit from today’s distribution, the Nigerian Police and other security outfits will receive the same in our subsequent batches,” he said.

The governor presented the vehicles to Gold Chibuisi, theatre commander of operation Hadin Kai, in Maiduguri, the Borno capital.

Commenting on the donation, Chibuisi assured the governor that the vehicles would be used to enhance the security situation in the state.
