Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun state, says the problems of the country that the All Progressives Congress (APC) met in office are far bigger than what is being portrayed.

Speaking with journalists after the Progressive Governors Forum’s lecture held in Kaduna on Thursday, Amosun expressed hope that despite the enormity of he challenge, the federal government would eventually turn around the company’s dire economic predicament.

“The issue is that the problems we met on ground are far more than what we are portraying to Nigerians,” he said.

“Irrespective of these challenges, however, we are determined, we are challenged, we are ready and we are equal to the task. Yes we have challenges, but the challenges are not insurmountable. We are already on the right track but we need to do more.”

He said the APC government needs time to fix these problems, adding: “You cannot expect something that has been bad for ages to be resolved under one or two years, and that is exactly what has been happening.”

The Ogun governor said that between the next 12 to 24 months, Nigerians would see positive change.

“By then, we would have improved in power, we would have improved even in service delivery,” Amosun said.
