Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), says he would not give up on his bid to become president of Nigeria.
Atiku, whose presidential ambition dates back to 2007, made the declaration in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa state, when he met with Sule Lamido, governor of the state.
He said he would continue contesting for the office of president should he lost the present bid
Atiku described his chances of winning his party’s primary on December 10 as “bright”, but said he would support whoever emerges at the primary election to ensure person’s victory at the 2015 presidential election.
Atiku had earlier told newsmen that he was in Dutse to interact with his party delegates ahead of APC’s presidential primary.
He criticised the invasion of the APC data office in Lagos by security operatives.
Beforfe leaving Dutse, he held a closed-door meeting with Lamido for one hour 30 minutes.
