Looting: We’ll meet in court, Secondus replies Lai

Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has threatened to sue the Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, over the corruption allegations he levelled against him.

On Friday, Mohammed named Secondus among the members of the PDP who he said looted the nation’s treasury.

He said the PDP chairman collected N200 million from the purse of the national security adviser (NSA) under the past administration.

In a statement by Ike Abonyi, his spokesman, Secondus told the minister to be ready to establish his allegations in court immediately.

He accused Mohammed of attempting to damage his reputation and distract him from serving PDP.

“For the purposes of some gullible public, Prince Secondus never collected any money from the NSA under any guise,” the statement read.

The PDP has earlier tackled the minister over the allegations.

It described the list of the alleged looters as “hollow and laughable”, adding that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had drawn a line of attack.
