Reports of the conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Nation reports that Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), is leading in south-west, north-west, and north-central geopolitical zones as results of the presidential election were coming in. The newspaper says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has lost 11 BVAS machines to thugs.

Sunday Vanguard reports that violence and late arrival of materials marred the conduct of Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections. The newspaper says Boko Haram fighters attacked voters in Borno state.

Daily Trust reports that the INEC would begin the collation of election results today. The newspaper says the candidates were hopeful of victory as former president Goodluck Jonathan and Abdusalami Abubakar, a former head of state called for calm.

The Guardian says Nigerians turned out en masse to elect new leaders to steer the affairs of the country. The newspaper reports that INEC has postponed elections in 141 polling units in Bayelsa.
