Osinbajo, Makinde to inaugurate cassava processing plant in Oyo on Friday

The Oyo state government has partnered with Rontol Foods Factory, to boost cassava production.

Seyi Makinde, the state governor, is set to commission the company’s newly built cassava processing unit on Friday in Ilora, Oyo state.

Adeleye Oyebade, chairman of Rontol Group of Companies, said those expected to be in attendance at the commissioning include south-west governors, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, and traditional rulers.

The private-sector initiative supported by the state government is aimed at providing quality foods to enhance people’s lifestyle and improve high-quality food production for nationwide distribution.

Rontol Foods Factory’s cassava processing plant has an input capacity to process 20 tons of cassava tubers daily, according to the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA).

The facility will also serve as a major processing center for the smallholder farmers around the location.

The Oyo state government is supporting the plant with several infrastructural developments, including power and rural road repairs.
