The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has recovered a waste disposal truck that fell off the Third Mainland Bridge.

Jubil Gawat, special adviser to the state government on new media, made this known through his Twitter page on Sunday.

On October 21, TheCable reported that LASEMA announced a traffic diversion on the bridge, in order to recover the truck.

“This exercise is scheduled for Sunday, 23rd October, 2022, commencing from 1.00pm,” the statement reads.

“Consequently, there will be road closure and traffic diversion on the 3rd Mainland Bridge for motorists moving from Lagos Island to connect Mainland through Iyana Oworonshoki while the recovery operation is ongoing.”

The agency advised that motorists should use alternative routes until the recovery is done.

Sharing pictures of the recovery on social media, Gawat said: “The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has recovered the PSP Truck that plunged into the Lagoon. Traffic on 3rd Mainland (inward Oworo) to ease out soon.”
