Andy Uba, senator representing Anambra south, says he has the “capacity” to remove Willie Obiano from office.

Obiano, the incumbent governor of Anambra state, was elected into office on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Uba who is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said this on Wednesday after picking up his forms to participate in the primary election at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja.

The senator said he is more experienced than the other candidates vying for the position and does not see why he would not win the election.

“We are 40 senators including myself, 41 of us, we are here to pick up my nomination form for the governorship of Anambra state which is for November 18, 2017. That is why I am here,” he said.

“If you look at all of us that are running, who has the best chance? Who has the experience? I have been a governor in Anambra state before, I have been senator two times. I have my structure in the state. I don’t see why I can win the election.

“Those that are running, I have not heard anything they have done, they have not won election and they are not prepared to win election. We need somebody with capacity and i know that we have that capacity to remove the sitting governor.”

He reiterated that he had no plan to leave the APC for any other party.

“It is a very wicked lie, it is a blackmail, they are just trying to sabotage me, they know that I’m on the ground, they know what I have done for Anambra state and constituency, you can go and check. No senator has done what I have done in Anambra state. So I have evidence, it is there,” Uba said.

“What my opponents are doing is to blackmail me, it is a total lie. I stand by the APC, I’m in APC now and nothing can make go to another party. I’m not somebody who runs up and down, you know me.”
